'My cat has a meow name for my dog': Hissterical Cats Meow-Talking to Their Owners in Unique Human-Like Ways

At some point in every cat owner's life, we come to admit to ourselves… that our cats understand far more than we thought they did. They do, and it's our fault. We talk to our cats all the time. We tell them about our days and vent about our troubles, and it seems that, over time, they start to understand. Whether they catch certain words or simply understand our tone doesn't matter. We talk to our felines, and our felines talk back. And if we listen carefully enough and for long enough, we will start to catch certain 'words' that they use too. 

Truly, our cats have different meows for different things. When they want food, one meow. When someone is close to the front door, another meow. When a bird flies by, insane chirping ensues. They understand a lot. So really, one day, when they finally take over the world, we cannot say that we did not see the signs along the way.

    Oh, we are one hundred percent sure that our cats have a specific language with us. Their cadence changes depending on the context of what we're talking about all the time. They could be yowling in anger, demanding to be fed, but the second they her us say the word 'food', they turn into the cutest angels in the world with the cutest meows, like they know we're more likely to give them stuff that way.

    And that is by far not the only thing that they do. They know. They understand. Way more than they let on. It's our fault that we don't understand them, not theirs. They are clearly trying. We're sure that they would be very happy if we understood their complaining a little bit better.

    She'll face her, and in a friendly way, do the "meow-ow" (they get along well). This is a very vocal cat, who makes more chirpy-trilly sounds than any I've ever known. Maybe she's especially verbally astute?

    back porch, it was quite disturbing and broke my heart more than it already was, so I was relieved when she finally stopped after I bought a furry blanket for her that looked and felt almost like his fur. My kids call me momma, and now she does too it's quite precious she's my bratty chatty little baby ❤

    Spark-vivre OP. 15 days ago Maybe? She's an enigmatic pup who isn't super expressive, so it's hard to tell. I might try calling her "meow- ow", but my human accent is super strong, so she may not recognize it!
