Woman Warns Boyfriend Not to Propose At Her BFF's Wedding, He Embarasses Her By Doing It Anyway, Resulting in Break Up
Wedding etiquette is not something taught in schools. It is learned through the experience of being a wedding guest or having to host a wedding yourself. While etiquette varies quite a bit from culture to culture, it is mostly pretty common-sense and intuitive. The most anxious of guests may find themselves Googling last-minute before a wedding if this or that is appropriate, but ultimately most things will slide so long as you don't break the golden rule: do not upstage the bride and groom. This is their special day, and they should be the focus. It is not a day for wearing white if you are not the bride, giving 'toasts' that are more than a few minutes long, announcing your pregnancy, or proposing to your would-be lover, as is the case in the fiasco we are visiting today.
Our protagonist in today's story played the part of a diligent bridesmaid for her best friend's wedding, going above and beyond to make sure that the day was as close to perfect as possible. Despite warning her boyfriend that she thought a wedding proposal was quite tacky, he decided to go through with what he considered to be a brilliant idea anyway, resulting in unnecessary wedding drama that was an insult to her efforts to make her BFF's wedding special. Oof!
