Most of us are just regular dudes. We may dream of grandeur, but in reality, we're okay with a few good friends, a comfortable home, and a cold beer. It doesn't take much more than that to get us through. I feel like there's too much emphasis put on being exceptional or extraordinary. Sure, it's good to strive for something more, but then the goalpost keeps moving. You get used to a certain level of success and you can't help but ask for more. Ambition becomes a bottomless pit, fulfilled by nothing, always churning.
We can get out of this endless rat race by romanticizing being a regular person. Regular people make the world go round. We hold down the fort so everyone else can go off and shoot for the moon and then have a nice place to land when they get back. And ordinary people deserve good memes too.
