If you have ever wondered what people did instead of taking pictures of their cats before everyone had phones… this thread is the answer. People painted their cats. Hours and hours, maybe days or weeks, poured into painting and drawing these meowgical creatures. Because what else would you do with your time that was more important? Nothing. Clearly nothing. And this thread isn't even the first time that we have seen this.
We have seen people painting their cats purrito-ed, because even back then, obviously, cats loved being wrapped up like that and people had to commemorate it. We have seen paintings of cats destroying human things, because the instinct to toss things off surfaces has clearly forever been there and furrever will be there. We have even seen a whole thread full of paintings of people spoon-feeding their cats like babies. Yes. And we think we might have to pick up that practice once again. And today, another iconic genre of the same sort is added to the list: paintings of cats stealing food. We have pictures of it on our phones. These people had paintings. Same, same.
Those who said that life imitates art were wrong, for it is clearly art that imitates life. And you know what? There is something highly entertaining in knowing that even back when they had no phones and easily available cameras, people still chose to commemorate their cats committing crimes in whichever ways they could.
This is what it means to be a cat owner. It means your camera roll being full of pictures like this, of them doing silly things and being their silly little selves. Why would you paint anything else when you can paint your cat doing cat stuff?
