'There's nothing I can do': Entitled customer demands employee personally deliver her groceries, employee refuses, leading to a dispute at the grocery store

Why is it so hard for customers to understand that sometimes there is simply no way for them to get their way? No, it is not because the 18-year-old employee wants to make your life difficult, and no, it is not out of spite, it is simply because places of work have rules and policies, and there is nothing they can do about it.

If a grocery store employee tells a customer that they do not have delivery service, there is no magic spell that will conjure a delivery person to do that job, no matter how many times the customer asks for one. As annoying as this situation can be, no amount of phone calls from said customer will help.

Sometimes those customers eventually accept the answer they have been given, like the customer in this Reddit story, and sometimes they hold a grudge for years. Even then, I hope the employees look back at these people and have a little laugh.
