Practicing gratitude is important, but it's not always easy. For example, when you are tearing a sticker off of your new candle it leaves a sticky, papery residue. Or when you go to make yourself a bowl of cereal and realize you're out of milk. Or when you're walking down the street and you realize you forgot your headphones. These are all key times when we need to stop, take stock, and realize how much we have to be thankful for. But also in those moments, we usually only want to curse the heavens.
But some things are easy to be grateful for. When a song comes on shuffle that you happened to be thinking about. When they give you an extra McNugget in your six-piece meal. When you get all green lights on your commute to work. And when there's a meme list so good, so worthy, that you just have to say "Thank goodness I'm alive."
