The woman in this Reddit post is recounting an uncomfortable night at her boyfriend's parents' house. She explains that her boyfriend constantly compares her cooking to his mother's, painting her cooking in a negative light in comparison. That's the first red flag. When the original poster (OP) and her boyfriend go to his parents' place for dinner, his mother makes her famous lasagna (one of the dishes he weaponized against the OP.) While at the table, her boyfriend repeatedly makes fun of the OP's cooking skills, inciting roaring laughter from his parents. Once she had enough of this cruel game of his, she leaves and sits in the car to regroup. He thinks he has nothing to apologize for, but clearly doesn't see the error in putting his girlfriend down in front of his parents whom she wants to make a good impression on.
