40-year-old company man gets passed over for promotion in favor of younger coworker, starts quiet quitting: 'Why should I care about them?'

It's never too late to stand up for yourself in the workplace. This company man was the kind of guy who always went above and beyond and was never properly rewarded for that extra effort. After 11 years at the company, he was once again passed over for a big promotion in favor of a much younger, newer coworker.

Finally, it was time for this employee to become disillusioned. Now, he understood what all the younger colleagues and coworkers at the office were talking about when folks were doing the "bare minimum" at work. Now, he understood that this was not the bare minimum; these coworkers were acting their wage and setting healthy boundaries between work and life, something company men tend to neglect to do. However, as we said earlier, it's never too late to correct your ways and to start "quiet quitting" like the rest of us.
