'This is not my cat': 20 Cute Cats Who Were Not Invited but Snuck into Our Homes and Stole Our Beds and Our Hearts

One of the most amazing things about cats to us is that they just… do whatever they want. Cats can spend their days chasing mice and lounging in the sun and chilling on some tree somewhere, but within all of that freedom, they, for some reason, choose to make space for us. For human. Cats choose us. They don't have to come into our homes, but they want to. They realize that inside, they will be spoiled cats living their best lives without having to face any of the outside difficulties.

It's amazing to say that cats domesticated themselves, but that is exactly what happened, and it continues to happen each and every day till this very day. Every time you hear a story of a cat randomly showing up at someone's house and choosing them, it's a story of a cat domesticating itself. And purrsonally, we think that is absolutely amazing.

"These cats are semi social. I'm not sure what to do about them, but they've decided they really like my back porch. I started putting water out for them. But even before that, they have been frequenting the house, the black one will let us pick it up hesitantly, the other standard issue cat is a little more standoffish.
I suspect they were once residents of a neighbor who recently lost his house, and I guess left the cat's behind. Not sure what to do. I can't take them in but feel bad for them..."

"The big boy does live here. The dinky pirate does not. He is very adorable but has a lovely home already. I'm happy to let my big boy have boys over though, I'm a cool cat mum. I'm actually really happy he's got a friend. His litter mate died earlier this year and he's been pretty sad, so it's lovely he's trusting a new cat to be in his space (he has form for growling at most cats so this is huge)."
