'Give me another chance': Employee quits job due to manager's lack of training, a year later same manager asks them to come back, employee accepts the offer

Much like breaking off a relationship with a romantic partner, when you decide to leave your place of work, there are bound to be lasting feelings that remain once you leave. Good or bad, you had a relationship with the people at your workplace, your coworkers and boss, and leaving them also means leaving with an impact.

Sometimes, similarly to a romantic relationship, that impact may inspire people to take action, just like an ex who decided to call their former loved one. In our case, the former boss decides to email OP (original poster) an open-hearted message about how they miss OP and wish they would come back to their old job. Despite not enjoying their role working under that same boss, OP decides to accept the offer and schedules a meeting to discuss their return to the company…
