Siblings turn against father and stepmother after bio mom passes, stepmother slanders her minutes after the funeral, causing eternal family strains
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. Having a difficult childhood can affect relationships for the rest of one's life. Seeing dysfunctional dynamics between family members, parents getting remarried, going over the hill, or completely abandoning the family can be traumatic at the least. We all know about the evil stepmother trope, and unfortunately or not, sometimes it turns out to be true.
In this Reddit thread, it centers around a family with some baggage, and the evil stepmother type that's so ubiquitously mentioned in fairytales and films alike. The original poster (OP) is a woman whose mother has just passed away. To make matters worse, she's somewhat estranged from her father due to his infidelity that separated the family forever. Tensions rise when her stepmother slanders her late mother. It's one thing to think ill of someone, but to slander them in front of their own children after they've passed is just pure evil.
