He should never have gotten kicked out for this. It's obviously on his parents that they didn't make him feel equal to his sister, so of course he's going to have outbursts. He's also only 17-years-old. He's not mature enough to understand how to cope with difficult emotions in the first place.

Wait, what? How would they allow a young girl to go to a boys only sleepover? That just seems odd and inappropriate.

“You’re an entitled princess:" Golden child sister gets yelled at by older brother after she jealously complains about his relationship with their grandparents, despite favoritism from parents
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. Feeling like you're second in line to a sibling is probably one of the worst feelings in the world. As a child, it can destroy your sense of trust in others, diminish your confidence, and make you feel unworthy of love and appreciation. If you're someone who grew up feeling like you had a "golden child" sibling, and that you were neglected, there are redemption stories that are sure to make you feel better. Not that someone else's experience will necessarily make you feel better, but it can help. Sometimes all you can do is distance yourself from the people giving you pain, and heal in other ways. Regardless of how your parents treated you, everyone is deserving of love, support, and worth.
In the story below, it centers around a 17-year-old who feels as though his 15-year-old sister is the golden child, and that he's not only neglected, but doesn't even have the same privileges as she does. He cites many examples of why he feels like this, but it all boils down to the same thing. He takes solace in the bond he shares with his grandparents. They put effort into him, make him feel special.
