College student demands sister give her the guest bedroom in their inherited SoHo apartment, sister suggests her husband and kids deserve the space more

When a loved one passes, they tend to leave material and fiscal goods behind for their surviving loved ones. Though no amount of cash or goods will ever alleviate the pain that attaches itself to us when we lose someone near and dear to our hearts, what is left behind might change your entire life for the better. It's almost like your loved one "planned" this one last act of kindness, hoping the fortunes they've left behind will help you in some way.

When multiple family members are expected to divvy up the inheritance, there might be some dissonance between who gets what (if it's not written into the will). Some folks will call dibs on grandma's shiny diamond ring and leave their siblings with a rubber ducky collection that has little to no value. Sure, life after a loved one passes should not be about money. But when a family member is sneakily taking what should be split evenly amongst their siblings, that's a cause for demanding you're given what you're entitled to.

I'm going to be blunt here. An 8-year-old girl does not need an ensuite bathroom, especially if she's living with her mother, father, and sister. A 24-year-old woman, on the other hand? She deserves to have some privacy in the apartment she inherited. Her sister already has the master bedroom, another small room for her children, and an office for her husband. The space in the apartment is already not distributed evenly, so this is the least her sister can do. The last thing the woman wants to do is take this situation to a legal professional, I'm sure. But, if it has to come to that, I don't blame her. College is expensive as it is.
