'She fumbled the job, the relationship, and a free ride to work': 27-year-old man recruits GF to work with him, discovers she's a nightmare employee

At first, working with a close friend or your partner might seem like an incredible opportunity. After all, you love your boyfriend, girlfriend, or partner: why not spend 8 hours extra with them each day? 

Work relationships and romantic endeavors are obviously quite different, so when you intertwine the two, it just leads to problems. Sure, it might seem fun to work with your GF all day, but you might quickly discover that you don't like working with her. She might be a lazy coworker, or wildly inefficient, or impolite to customers. And it's even more awkward if you're the reason she got that job in the first place, which is what happened with this dude. 

Sometimes you think you know a person, but because their work life is such a different context, they've got a whole other side of their personality just waiting to be uncovered. 

This woman got in hot water with the boss because she was waiting for a soda refill. She simply refused to budge until she got it. And you know what? I kind of side with her in a way. Soda is so delicious, one of the finest drinks ever invented. And if you're at a restaurant with bottomless refills, you have to get your money's worth! 

But also, if we use our thinking brains for a moment to ponder this, we remember that actually, soda is very cheap and plentiful. Giving up your entire job just to get another refill on that Dr. Pepper is pretty silly business.
