As your cheeks thaw and turn rosy, you chuck off your shoes, abandon your raincoat, and take a scalding hot shower. Once dry and bundled up, you plop into the inviting cushions of your couch and heave the greatest sigh. Alas, you've made it. Relieved to be safe and warm in your humble abode, you steel yourself to never venture beyond your front door again—lest it be an emergency.
And that, my friends, is how an introvert is born.
Introverts feel this way after the most benign of outings: Groceries, errands, or a casual coffee with a coworker. Wrung out from the elemental damage of the outdoors, it's always a relief to come home to your cozy space, enjoying the richness of this secure and lovely burrow you've built around you.
