  • I was pumping gas, left it running and then started. cleaning the bugs from my windshield (it was that time of year). This truck had pulled up behind me, and the driver was an inpatient a hole. He got out of his truck and
  • walked up to the fuel handle. Gas was still running. He shut it off, pulled nozzle out of my car and put it back in the pump station and told me he was "helping me get out of the way". I was on the passenger side of car.
  • I was startled and starting to walk back around to confront the guy. My son, 17 years old at the time, had been in the store and was walking back to the car when he saw what was going on.
  • He walked oversaid, "Dad, just leave, okay?" So I walked back around, got in and started driving away, feeling like I may have avoided an a whipping, but as soon as we drove away he
  • reached into his pocket and pulled out a keychain. The guy had left his door open and while he was focused on me, my son had reached in and grabbed the keychain out of the ignition to his truck. As we pulled out of
  • the parking lot we saw him running towards us! We drove about a half mile from there, and I pulled over into a parking lot, and walked over to the curbed main street,
  • and tossed his keys into storm drain. Must have been 8 or 9 keys on there so I'm sure he had fun replacing all that.
  • AshenLaLonDES 1, I'd be so proud of your son if I were you, talk about quick thinking, and the way you just trusted him and it panned out, I bet he feels 20 feet tall. Good on you both!

  • Old AccountTurned10 That reminds me of the time my son (17 at the time) and I were at a gas station when this guy straight-up hit his wife right in front of us. I was p ed but didn't want to start anything, so I was heading to the car. The wife went into the store, and the guy went in to pay, and my son saw his chance. He walked over to the guy's car and peed all over the door handle. When the guy came back out and grabbed it, he froze, looked at his hand, and then lost it. He started
  • screaming and trying to wipe it off, and my son and I just sat in the car watching him. We drove off, laughing, and I'm pretty sure he learned a lesson that day-don't hit your wife, and definitely don't leave your car handle unattended while my son's around.
  • Direct-Amount54 I actually saw this happen once at the beach. These people were being jerks to these locals in Hawaii and when they got in the water the locals walked up to their towels, grabbed the keys and whipped them into the ocean.
  • Golf-on Your son is next level awesome haha
  • Not Quite De dYetPhoto Similar at Lowes, customer in front of me is - berating the returns lady. She's near tears. He finally walks off to go get a 'replacement' for his super used and trashed junk that she's having to take back. Very quietly I walk up and say "Hey, there are cameras covering this, right?" She nods. "Do you think they can see right here behind the monitor where he left his keys?"
  • The look on her face.... pure joy.... I then asked if she wanted me to make them disappear to somewhere in the store- and she'd have nothing to do with it. I could see both emotions warring with her, but in the end she said to just give them to her.

  • krismitka Had this happen at an apartment once! Guy shows up drink in the parking lot at 2 am on a weekday with his radio blasting and passes out in the drivers seat. I woke up to the sound of my downstairs neighbor shouting at him to turn his stereo off.
  • I go check it out, turn off his car and take the keys and throw them behind the back tire. I headed to my neighbors apartment and we watched for a half hour as he struggled to find them. Finally had to call it quits so I walk past his car while he's standing beside it, point on the ground and say "hey bud, are those your keys?" He thanks me for helping him find them.
  • Lopsided_Anteater_28 I did exactly that to a guy in Idaho 1978. At a cafe he was drinking harassing the staff and threatening to drive his truck through the place. I saw his keys, took them and drove away.
  • Not Quite De dYetPhoto Does your kid like steak? I will buy him a rare filet mignon. Awesome.
