I am one of many people who have dreaded attending my crush's future wedding. The thought of someone whom you fantasized about marrying and being with for the rest of your life doing that with someone else can be deeply upsetting, to the point where you can't even bring yourself to attend the wedding. That being said, usually, crushes that were once the most important thing in your life fade over time. Could you imagine if you were married to the guy you had a crush on in your 6th-grade Trombone class? Or the first person you hooked up with in college? While some people hold onto crushes for years and years (and God bless you if you're one of them, it literally could never be me) most of us can look back at them and laugh, look back with neutrality, or think, "What on Earth was I thinking, crushing on them?"
