I recently had a lovely little date night with myself. I took an everything shower, put on a face mask, ordered sushi, and watched Pride and Prejudice. I had never actually seen it before. It was a fun experience to watch the cold, brooding Mr. Darcy fall for Elizabeth and to finally see the scene that birthed the viral TikTok sound, "I'm 27. I've got no money and no prospects. I'm already a burden to my parents, and I'm frightened."
Women these days are in no rush to get married the way that they were in 1800s. Being single in your late 20s is completely normal; in fact, tying the knot before 25 is considered to be a bit hasty in some circles. It makes sense to want to get relationship experience and have independent financial stability before you find a partner. However, there are plenty of people that are still stuck in the past – like our protagonist's entitled cousin from our story today!
