Got rejected for not having “5 years experience” in a tool that launched last year.

Applied for a job I was genuinely excited about. One reason I got rejected? "Lack of experience in X."
  • 03
I Googled it the tool was - released in 2023. The job post also said: "Must have 5+ years experience"

    - So let me get this straight – you want someone with future experience in a brand new tool... but also someone who's adaptable?

At this point, job hunting feels like: Company: "Must walk on water." Me: "I can swim." Company: "Sorry, not good. enough."

This isn't job search fatigue anymore. It's corporate fantasy disguised as hiring. Anyone else run into this nonsense lately?

Far Opinion_9793 This is not a new thing. I still remember when I first left school back in 1991. There was a job going, and I remember it was for a law firm. They wanted an office

and they were!! They told me that the right person would have been working towards their working career at the beginning of high school! You can't even make this cr p up!!

Career_By_Mustafa OP Totally get what you mean that's actually insane. A teenager with 5 years of office experience? At 16?? Like were we supposed to be filing paperwork in between math and lunch breaks? It's honestly no wonder so many people are burnt out now... the pressure started way too early.

Pretty sure he still didn't get the job because the company was just creating a ghost recruitment.

Career_By_Mustafa OP Imagine inventing the software and still getting ghosted by HR. Peak corporate logic: 'You're too early for your own tool.

Career_By_Mustafa OP I used to think the job market was tough. Now I realize I'm just not a time traveler with 5 years of experience in tools released. last year.
