Self-centered man demands that everyone celebrate his birthday for a whole week, his girlfriend calls him out for being ungrateful and selfish: "I'm exhausted of entertaining, coordinating, and cooking!"
Everyone has a unique relationship to their birthday. Most people like to get gifts, throw a small party with close friends, and receive messages from loved ones on their birthday. However, some people prefer not to even acknowledge it at all; they barely tell anyone when it is and brush off any well-wishes. The most they'll agree to is dinner with their significant other at a slightly nicer-than-usual restaurant. On the other end of the spectrum, we find people that use their birthday as an excuse to get as much attention as possible. They spend months planning their special day – some even turn the one day into a week-long celebration!
In our story today, our protagonist's boyfriend is in the latter camp. He demands that his friends, family, and girlfriend celebrate his existence for a week straight. They comply, but he has the gall to complain when their efforts don't meet his standards. In the end, his exhausted girlfriend is forced to call him out for his selfishness, self-centeredness, and entitlement.
