It's really a pet peeve of mine when people get a little too nosy about your life. They should willing to accept the “no” that you've offered them. If you say you're busy, what difference does it make if you have a crucial, non-negotiable plan or not? Why would the person still want to hang out with someone who already rejected them?

Entitled sister-in-law demands free baby sitting on command from husband's sister, she resorts to blunt honesty and he accuses her of humiliating his wife: "She's humiliating herself"
Hey there, ladies and gentlemen of the internet. There's no harm in saying the word "no," yet for some people and cultures, this word is as bad as it gets. Ever heard of people pleasers? The word "no" to a people pleaser is worse than anything you could say. It has an inherent negative connotation, and some people would rather promise their souls to St. Francis than tell someone no. And on the opposite spectrum, some people can't be told no! I had a friend who dated a guy who told her that he hates being told no. He said he takes it as a rejection. I'm sorry, but are you a toddler? It's the only age group that detests the word no, and takes such an ego hit with that miniscule level of rejection.
Hopefully you're a sound and grown up adult who can hear a "no" without losing themselves completely to the depths of human fraught, malice, or anger. We've all encountered entitled people in our spheres, it's just about who we let dominate there, or what we ultimately tell them.
