So I heard a cat crying for an about an hour, finally went to check and it was on my garage roof. was able to get it down and it was instantly friends. I'm actually half deadly afraid of cats but this one is pretty chill

Every time I leave it outside it cries, like loud and none stop waiting at my door I feel bad so I come back out, I've gave it milk and a sausage roll
  • 09
It wants to come inside but my mum won't let it Everywhere I walk, it steps in front of me and follows me literally pressed against my ankle purring
  • 10
It's been 3 hours and it won't stop I don't if it's a stray or a lost cat, dirty and stinks though. but it really friendly, literally wants to be stroked all the time.
  • 11
It's currently asleep in my lap but I can't stay with all night. What's the best course of action?

Visible_Reading_8893 Try and convince your mom to let you bring it inside. Let it spend the night to recover. Maybe in the morning it will feel better. That or you keep it forever

No-Risk-2584 OP Just an update, my mum isn't budging. Won't allow it in the house or even the garage. 1, because of the dog and 2, because it's dirty and stinks. There's literally no convincing her.

Just a quick question to those who can answer, the cat is shedding a lot of hair. Like a lot, my shirt is covered, it comes out in my hands sometime when I stroke. Is that normal? Edit: I don't have a box but I've gave it a blanket and it seems to really love it. Sitting on it and pawing it non-stop.

Edit 2: I've had to go inside. I'm shivering like mad and extremely exhausted. All I can hear from my bedroom is it's crying outside though at my door which is breaking my heart. I'm hoping it's still there in the morning and I'll take it to the shelter Edit 3: I gave up after an hour. Couldn't sleep with its crying so now I'm back outside freezing with this cat.

SoapyBrow if you can't end up convincing her maybe try taking the cat to a shelter or animal sanctuary that will be able to take care of them, as for the shedding fur depending on how much it will probably be normal - as long as it's not going bald or anything it should be fine when i stroke my cat tons of hair fails out or even all collects at his bum brushes absolutely filled with hair constantly even moments after taking the fur out i would probably recommend taking them to the vets if you ca

No-Risk-2584 OP I'm going to look into it but it's 1:30 in the morning here, nowhere I can find is open till like 8 or 9. I can't stay with it all night because I'm shivering and extremely tired even though I feel awful about leaving it outside. My mum will be letting my dog out for a wee in a few hours (around 4) who hates cats with a passion and will definitely chase it away. Hopefully it manages to stick around or come back and I'll take it to a shelter.

grahamfreeman Do you have a cardboard box and a loose blanket you can place into it? Maybe put the box where your mom won't see it/find it, and for a finishing touch any scraps of food just in case. Thank you for being a good human ☑

No-Risk-2584 OP I don't have a box but I've gave it a blanket and it seems quite fascinated with it. Sitting on it and won't stop pawing it non stop. I think it likes it

blulou13 He's looking for help and a home. Help is food, water, and a safe place for now. And he may have had a home, but got lost. The best thing to do is to take him to a vet's office tomorrow and have them scan for a microchip. It's possible there's an owner that's missing him. However there's also a possibility that he was dumped. If he's that friendly, he was a pet at some point.

If you really can't give him a home, then try to get him to a no-kill shelter. But please stop giving him cow's milk. Cats are lactose intolerant. They can have goat's milk, but cow's milk can cause stomach upset and diarrhea. Water and cat food are fine.

No-Risk-2584 OP Oh sh I didn't know. Right, water it is! Thanks. I think it must've been a pet cause of how friendly it is. I'll look into getting it to a vet but I'm really tired, it's freezing and I can't stay with it all night, my mum will be letting my dog out in a couple of hours who will probably chase it away.
