We all know entitled people, people who want to push boundaries, who want to get what they want regardless of how it affects anyone else. It's even harder to deal with when it's one or both of your parents. Our parents should be respectful of our wishes as adults.

29-year-old woman kicks out entitled parents for insisting her husband wake up after they show up unannounced, she refuses: “If you can’t respect my request then you’re not longer welcome”
The essence to any healthy relationship is respect. Whether it's your partner, your parents, siblings, boss, friends, or dermatologist, respect is crucial to maintain a relationship where both people are happy. It can be heart wrenching to see a couple where respect is clearly not involved. Affection isn't the same as respect, nor is love. And unfortunately, when you grow up and uninvolved yourself with a fairytale-like mindset behind dating, you realize that love isn't everything.
I once dated a guy who was very affectionate, and very sweet with his words. But over time, I saw that his words didn't match his actions, and I realized that his version of love wasn't only self-serving, but it was detached from what I felt like was a love I needed. When you really decide that your partner's well-being is on par with your own, the love will speak stronger.
In the story below, the protagonist doesn't just love her husband, she respects him. When he's exhausted from overworking, she takes his side, regardless of what her parents think.
