Entitled sisters adopt a Russian Blue cat and name him exactly like their friend’s name she saved for her black cat: 'Kuro means black in Japanese, their cat is literally dark grey'

When you trust your friends with a wish, with some dream that you have, you expect them to be… well, friendly about it. To listen and support, and maybe even help you reach that dream, that wish you were having. That's what friends are for - they support each other, lift each other, and sometimes even help us reach where we cannot reach ourselves. That's what this one aspiring cat mom expected from her friends to do, but she got utterly disappointed.

The two sisters, who were supposed to be friends with the aspiring cat mom, adopted a cat - which is always good in our book here at I Can Has Cheezburger. But when they told their friend that their new cat's name was Kuro, she was taken aback - this is the name she wanted to call her future black cat for years. She was dreaming about adopting a black cat and naming him Kuro (="black" in Japanese), and she didn't just wish it - she shared this deep wish with her friends. And what did they do? Well, exactly that. And the cat wasn't even black.

Why do people hold their pets as tools for petty human squabbles? That's beyond our understanding. It's not the cat's fault, and we hope he's in good hands. But these sisters? They feel like they're entitled to a name wished so deeply by their friend. They could name their cat any other name (for goodness sake, there are cats named "Toolbox"! They literally could've picked anything) - but what name did they choose? The one that's the only unfriendly option.

  • Really, why would they name a Russia Blue in a name they know means “Black”? It makes no sense whatsoever.
