It's crazy how Squidward turns into the most relatable character in the show the older you get; he is so justifiably grouchy!

25 SpongeBob Memes That Capture the Ups and Downs of Womanhood
SpongeBob SquarePants was one of my favorite shows growing up in the early-to-mid 2000s. Looking back, I'm not sure if I was truly obsessed with SpongeBob on my own, or if it was simply impossible to escape him. At one point, it felt like a quarter of my belongings were SpongeBob-branded, from t-shirts and towels to video games, kitchenware, and random knickknacks featuring Patrick, Squidward, or Gary. SpongeBob wasn't just a cartoon character; he was practically the mascot of early-2000s childhood.
What's wild is how relevant he still feels now that we're adults. The show was always absurd and funny on the surface, but looking back, the characters hit a little too close to home now. SpongeBob is a people-pleasing service worker with a greedy boss, Squidward is the perpetually tired coworker who just wants to be left alone, and Patrick is, well… the clueless friend we all love but sometimes can't deal with. In other words, SpongeBob was low key preparing us for adulthood all along. Here at 25 memes that prove it!
