Long Island children's sports coach laments parent's overreactions: 'Why are... the Moms acting this way?'

    is going on. i coached my kids t-ball and it was the moms who drove me nuts the whole time trying to teach me how to coach. i figured it was a baseball thing so i just said never again. now im coaching my kids football and again its only the moms

    yelling at me. if the moms want to coach so bad why dont they sign up to be the coach? all these sports are always looking for coaches i volunteer my time for free. why are the dads quiet but moms are acting this way? also its always the worse kid on team

    Bnandez I cant stand the parents that say, "this coach doesn't know what he's doing..." yet they dont volunteer or only show up to a few games. I admittedly dont know what im doing. I know my role and I keep my mouth shut.

    liked, and they would be super ped when I pulled their kid out. I was told the good kids should stay in so they could run up the score. And this was a church league. Total nut jobs.

    yankeejohn I coached Varsity level in two sports for just under 25 years. When I started out it was the dads that would approach about playing time, where their kid should play, what I should do etc. About 10 years ago it switched over to the moms. I don't know why exactly, but thats what happened.

    Cheap-Insurance-1... It's the same reason why nobody wants to ref/umpire. Nobody wants to deal with the parents.
