'I am not a Starbucks barista': Woman stands firm against entitled daughter-in-law by refusing to make her complicated coffee every morning

People are very particular about their coffee. In my office, there are all sorts of coffee options, but I, a creature of comfort, need to have it the exact same way every single day. There is an espresso machine, a Keurig, and no less than three different brands of instant coffee. On top of that, there are all sorts of sugar options and different types of milk in the fridge. I'll tell you now that I must have two tablespoons of Taster's Choice with about a quarter cup of light soy milk. Yeah, yeah, oatmilk is classier, but soy milk mixes the best with hot coffee. 

Now, you may consider my preferences to be quite particular, especially since I get kind of antsy if my preferred milk just ran out. But trust me, there are people with much more involved coffee rituals, such as the daughter-in-law in today's story. Not only does she need her milk steamed and an array of different flavors added to her morning cuppa, but she doesn't even make this thing herself, and it's not a Starbuck's order, either. No, she expects her mother-in-law to make this for her every morning. Talk about entitlement! Luckily, our protagonist knows exactly where to draw the line.

  • Unless you are literally at a Starbucks,  if someone else is making your coffee, the only options should be whether or not you want milk or sugar. This is such embarrassing and entitled behavior.

    lihzee NTA. I can't imagine being so entitled. You're making her coffee, you're just not devoting a ton of extra time to make her some sort of fancy drink. If it's that important to her, she should get up earlier and do it herself.
