‘They take advantage of that, it's OUR property’: Neighbors block shared driveway with cars and bulk trash, ignoring boundaries and pushing their neighbors to get the city involved

  • My neighbors keep parking in our spot and NOW putting their bulk on our side!

  • Oh they're really starting to annoy me. So for starters, we share a driveway; its our house, then the driveway, then the neighbors house.
  • The driveway leads to the back where it then splits and we have our own separate back yard and they have theirs.

  • Hopefully this makes sense. Over the last couple months, they continue to park right in the beginning of the driveway, meaning we'll come to pull in and cant at all.

  • Then they won't be in the car so we have to wait till they eventually come out and move their car.

  • Or they would have their car parked right in the middle of the start of the split in the driveway in the back, and I cant pull all the way into the driveway.

  • This was already an issue. THEN recently, they have been parking one of their cars on our side of the yard in the back.

  • Literally behind our house. They have like 4 cars on their side then try to use ours, which barely have space for two cars.

  • I don't have a car myself at the moment, but I do use my father's car over the weekend (Fri,sat, sun)and sometimes random days during the week.

  • Understandably so, I think they caught on to the fact that we dont always have a car back there and they to take advantage of that, but its OUR property.

  • Multiple times within 2 weeks, i pulled in ready to park and theres a car in my spot.

  • And not even in a way where I can still park next to it and ask them to move, no completely in the middle.
    via Flashy-Arm-874
  • And unfortunately only a few of them speak English. We finally caught someone who did the other night when they were in our spot again and told them for the 10th time, do not park over here!

  • It was 12am, i was so tired and here I am waiting to park on my own side of the yard :,) Now, we're noticing they are putting out their garbage on our side too.

  • Bulk at that. They put three mattresses on our side for bulk. We have them on camera too.
    via Flashy-Arm-874
  • Also to mention, around when they first moved in, i caught one of the ladies taking our laundry cart from our yard, which we had under our gazebo area.

  • I pulled out my phone for the translator and asked whats going on. She said she really needed it, shes so sorry.
    via Flashy-Arm-874
  • I told her it was okay but you know... ask first... And thats the main problem!
    via Flashy-Arm-874
  • My older sister and I live here, if they ask to use something, ask if they can park there, ask if they can put some stuff on our side for garbage day, 9.99/10 we'll say yes and try to work something out.

  • Either have the family members that speak english ask or use the translator. I think its also a shocker for us, as this was our grandparents home we currently live in.

  • The house next door was the same neighborhoods from when they lived there in the 50s up till 2022 while I lived here and he passed away.
    via Flashy-Arm-874
  • Then we didnt have anyone living next door for a good 2 years. Now we have people, who are nice btw i dont have anything bad to say about them, but they aren't respecting boundaries.

  • We know the landlord is technically their family member but he doesn't live in our city.
    via Flashy-Arm-874
  • Cool guy but my dad suggested taking it to the city and having the city get contact with the landlord at this point.
    via Flashy-Arm-874
  • Idk but its increasingly getting worse.
