This guy who we named Piku started visiting us randomly over a year ago. We live in a community.
  • 03
We fed him, bathed him and he would spend 2 days with us before demanding to be let outside.
  • 04
I assumed that was he wasn't trained to use the litter and he had to poo.
  • 05
But he was developing digestive issues, so I dropped a message in the community group about not feeding him milk.

Hi everyone, this is a stray cat we have named Piku. He often visits our house in 8th main and a few others that we don't know of. For identification, he was recently injured on his front left leg and has a wound there as seen in the photo. I had taken him to a vet last week and I was informed that he is lactose intolerant and cannot process milk. It is leading to bloating in his abdomen and may affect his future health. So I kindly request the folks whom visits around 8-10th main to not feed hi

brokencog25 Adult cats are all lactose intolerant and it causes, bloating, gas, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. Kittens produce lactate that breaks down the sugar in milk. Adult cats do not produce it, making it difficult for them to process dairy. They will certainly drink it, but it isn't good for them.

OP liberaltilltheend Yes, i would learn that later

brokencog25 I have two like that... BabyCat and MissyFred. They have been doing it for years. All of their adopted humans treat them like full family members. I carry pet insurance on all of my cats, including them. Everybody knows that I do the vet visits, so they don't get double shots or flea/heartworm treatments. Some cats are just GREEDY. LOL

OP liberaltilltheend Oh, the antics of Piku within the household is another matter altogether. So he sleeps in the living room and we sleep in the bedroom. I usually wake up at around 5am to pee and my wife wakes up at 7am. This guy understood this around 2 days in. So when I wake up, he gets me to feed him and later when I go back to sleep and my wife wakes up, he gets her to do the same. We only figured it out cuz the bag was empty one day when I was going to feed him lunch and I checked with

ShuckingFambles BBC horizon did a documentary in 2012 called the secret life of a cat. In it they attached GPS trackers to the villages cats (with consent of course) and mapped/videoed the goings on. Amazing how many cats lived at multiple homes, went to houses for extra food etc. They also had patrol routes that didn't overlap with a change of cat at times of day. Fascinating stuff if you can track it down

paintsandbrushes Love when Bangaloreans come together to get scammed by neighbourhood cats! Had my share of two-timing furry babies too, miss them every day.
