How did we all end up spending so much money in December? Although it's entirely predictable every year, broke folks are always flabbergasted when the new year rolls along, and they have $5 in their bank accounts. Understandably, we all get caught up in the flurry of holiday spirit, throwing away our inhibitions, and spending like that bonus check is going to hit our direct deposit any second. As many of us know, that isn't going to happen, so we must get back to our stingy ways, clinging to our cash with a tighter fist than the knuckle sandwich of 2025 that punched us in the gut.
In 2026, things will be different. This is the penny-pincher's year to live large on a dime, knowing that discount groceries and unpaid bills are in the past. Run it up, baby, it's time to shine on a budget. Be the star that you are and get into some thrifting, fancified ramen noodles, and homemade soups. Hold on tight to your dollars and before you know it, your coffers will be bursting with a plethora of wealth. At least, that's how I understand it from a non-financial expert's opinion.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a financial guru, and my advice should be heeded as an amateur thrifty gal.
