Got my chewy from a breeder. He was the last one from the litter. No one wanted him because he has respiratory problems. Just lots of mucus on is nose every day. He is 3 years old.

I told the breeder, I'm not paying for him but will deal with the vet bills. So far I have dropped about 2k on bills and nothing can be done. We have tried tones of medication, steroids etc... nothing. The only thing left is some X-rays but I'm not doing this.

He is healthy, loves to eat and plays. What seems to work is that every night, we flush is nose with Saline water. We use a plastic syringe and he sneezes the mucus out. For some reason, he doesn't seem to mind. He is used to it. Love this guy. Honestly he is my therapy cat

Livid-Appearance-272 Has he been pcr tested? We got our male Mc from a breeder that was retiring him. He had/has slight eye/ nose crusting so we got an eye and fecal panel done (pcr) turns out he has calici and coronavirus These could have been prevented with proper vaccinations as a kitten We love him all the same and try to keep his stress levels down so that he doesn't get any more flares.

Vagabond Estates OP Yes, we have done everything besides the x-rays but I'm done spending money on him just to try stuff. The medicine was actually making is fur and energy bad. Plus running . Now is sloops are solid, is energy level are high. Playful guy and loves to fetch. After he gets the flush he gets some treats and he actually comes to us a night to remind us it's flushing time.

Lucid Nonsense We had a girl with this issue. Vet said it was Feline Herpesvirus 1. From your description, it seems similar to what we were experiencing. Nothing to be done other than what you're already doing and hopeful you enjoy a long life with him. Miss my cats, snot and all.

Vagabond Estates OP Yes, I have learned to live with it. The snot is everywhere. Walls, curtains, beds etc... but we stopped caring. Just cleaning and the apartment will need to be painted at some point. When the snot dries up, it's harder to remove and the base boards are full of it. We clean when we can but at night we just don't realize until it's dried. But we love him

Acceptable Society61 How did you get to adopt a lion?

Vagabond Estates OP I rescued him from a breeder because he couldn't be sold.

122607Cam I hope the breeder has addressed why their litter involved a kitten with such a major health issue. He is a handsome guy and so very obviously loved. He ended up with the right person

Vagabond Estates OP Nope, nothing. He was returned 3X and he didn't want to pay for the vet bills.
