'The little fluffball followed me home': Pregnant stray cat barges into man's house, climbs into his lap like she owns the place, and makes it clear she’s chosen him

When a cat chooses you, you simply have to accept your fate.

It really is that simple. And you don't have to wonder. Walking into a shelter to adopt a cat, you may think that you are making a choice by taking the cat that you do. You might still harbor that illusion. That is in that situation. Oftentimes, it's much clearer and simpler. A cat will come up to you at 2am and adopt you, following you home and not leaving you alone. A cat may run in front of your car, stopping you in your tracks, and refuse to leave without you. A cat might fly into your window and fall straight into your lap, and you will have no choice but to go to a pet store and start buying supplies.

And if a cat walks straight into your home… well, they did not leave much question about it. They are yours. Of course, the person in this story still tried - they tried letting the cat back out into the world, to see if the cat made a mistake or not. But of course the cat didn't. So, they walked right in again - for the second time, and two times is all that was needed for this person to accept their fate.

Sometimes, you and your cat's fates are simply written in the stars like that. It's meant to be. You were supposed to find one another. The same thing happened to us, actually. Just one day, on our birthday, no less, a 1-year-old stray kitten ran straight into our apartment. We weren't sure what to do, weren't prepared to take care of a cat at the time. But even after we let it out, thinking that maybe it'll go back to its momma or friends, she ran right back in, and she has been ours ever since. And we couldn't be more thankful to whatever it was out there in the stars that made that happen.

It really is how it happens! And it's important too, for the cat to love your home. There's a reason that in some traditions, what you do when you move into a new house is to let the cat in first. If the cat approves of the place, then it is going to be a good one, and if he doesn't… then maybe not. That's what the tradition says, and we can totally understand why people would believe that. If your cat is stressed, nothing can be worse. But if your cat is calm, then the entire house feeds off that energy too.
