"Adam Sandler Drowned...": A Sick Joke That's Gone Viral on TikTok

The rumor first started surfacing in 2020. Whoever started the rumor is unknown, but it became a strong hoax throughout Twitter and TikTok.

Posters were saying that he drowned and then later he died from a car crash in D.C. Eventually, it became obvious that Adam Sandler was in fact not dead. Yet that somehow never fully squashed the joke. It made a come back again in 2021, but with a more immediate reveal that it was all just a joke. This time the post had an obituary-like post, but at the end instead of saying he passed away it said he “peacefully woke up this morning.” 

Now, it's 2022 and the rude AF joke is starting to rear its ugly head once again. Now, TikTokers are posting videos morning the Grownups star with no other context. Most viewers commenting on the posts are already in on the joke, but some have an understandable reaction of shock. Sandler posted condolence to the passing of Bob Saget recently, so it's, again, obvious that he is actually alive. If the comedian found out about the trend, would be think it's funny or be upset?
