Worried Zucchini_842 You made the right choice. The fact he wanted/expected you to to give up family for him is a huge red flag.

VerifiedNoms OP I just hate how much I put up with when I was with him. It's been rough since I thought he'd be the one until I got hit with this but the glasses came off. Thank you.

Wildmojo369 Sometimes we meet that person who seems perfect, then they show who they really are. Cats love us and depend on us for their entire life. Unfortunately some men don't understand that.

VerifiedNoms OP That would also be my dad, no matter how much I try to explain that regardless, no, they're not my kids but I made a commitment and I consider them nothing less than family.

BooBoo_Cat You made the right choice. Why did he want you to give up your cats? For a relationship to work, both people need to be on the same page about kids and pets.

VerifiedNoms OP I mentioned it in another comment but it became very clear last night that he hates cats, they should "be out in the field, catching mice, nasty, filthy animals should not be allowed in the house."

blueViolet26 Yep. I told my boyfriend I would do anything for him. But my cats and my job come first.

VerifiedNoms OP Yeah, this guy wanted me to get rid of my cats, move from my super great cushy job to another state and there wasn't even a promise of marriage or a family. Guuuuurl, bye.

BigSeaweed 7375 Ew let me guess he wanted to replace the beautiful kitties with a dog
  • 12
VerifiedNoms OP He had a dog, which he realized he didn't have the time for and gave to his friend which he sees every often. Knowing that he wants to open his own business, that'll never change and he will probably not get the dog back until he finds another partner to take care of it for him.

moofkins I'm glad you did a hard but right choice! Was there any reason for him to want get rid of cats? like allergy or was this just pure power move and jealousy of your attention towards kitties?

VerifiedNoms OP After the phone call he made to me last night, I have a strong inkling he f- hates cats. Which, when discussing with my dad, I asked why someone would choose a partner that has cats if they hate them? Doesn't make sense.

Hippopotasaurus-Rex Been there a couple times. The surprised pikachu face when dude realizes he SEVERELY overestimated his worth/power is always hilarious. Guy: You need to give up your cat. I hate them and won't live with one.

Me: ok. Them: oh good I knew you'd see reason! Me: bye, Felicia Them: * surprised pikachu * Them: Wait, what?!?!? Don't you love me? Me: Nah. I'm good.

VerifiedNoms OP I never got to see it, and I think he was too much of a narcissist to give the emotional side up anyway. He did this all over text/call, and his sister who also has a cat encouraged his behavior saying, "I picked me cats over him." Bonkers but that's the world we live in. He even said he loved me before gloating about all the options he has in the new place, like.. what? lol okay, good luck. Me and the kitties are gonna' sleep in and crack open a window to enjoy the weather. They

VerifiedNoms OP I have about five seconds, but that's about it. Then she gums ya'. Her name is toothless as I got her when she was a stray, her teeth were rotting and had to be taken out.
