"My Journey to Becoming a Pathological Liar": Viral TikToker Straight Up Admits He Lies In Every Video, Yet Still Has Viewers Thinking He's Telling the Truth

Everybody loves a good story, but it's usually better when you know from the start if the story is fiction or non-fiction. Mostly because, ya know, if someone says they're telling you a true story and then it turns out to be not true, that's usually called lying.

TikTok user Cody Jacob aka @imcodyjacob is trending due to his epic personal “true” stories that go insanely viral and that viewers just want to know more and more about. All of his stories are so insane, as if he's lived a thousand lives. They're so insane, they almost sound fake…

“Over the last three and a half days, nearly 7 million people have accepted my lies"

Well, it turns out they are all just viral lies and are actually clearly labeled as “lying"—yet, still, millions of viewers seem to have missed that. Jacob started a series about a week ago where he would just tell the most insane things that “surely, no one would believe.” Even after posting the video explaining that he was lying, he still gets new viewers coming in asking him to see the black panther he “accidentally adopted” or needing more info on the time he was a pilot and got drugged and kidnapped. 

This thought experiment really makes you think, when it come to entertainment, do people even really want the truth?
