It's Friday night, so it's time to prepare for the weekend like wild animals do!

First of all, we're going to make some Friday night party plans, just like a tarsier. This tiny primate is built like it's meant to do Friday night partying every day. The go absolutely feral after dark. Their eyes are so enormous that they can't even move in their sockets (it rotates its whole head like an owl instead). They leap wild distances between trees at night, hunt live prey with manic energy, and are almost never seen during the day. That's the chaotic Friday energy we look for.

But then comes Saturday, the perfect day to recover from last night's wilderness. We're going through Saturday like a koala, which sleeps up to 22 hours a day. Not because they're lazy, but because eucalyptus leaves are so low in nutrients and mildly toxic that their body basically has to power down to process them. Koalas just... cling to a branch and check out. They don't go anywhere and look vaguely dazed when awake. The ultimate Saturday creature.

But after we recover, it's time to make the most out of the weekend by going on a Sunday hike. Elephants, for example, can walk 50+ miles in a single day, exploring, foraging, visiting old watering holes, and checking in on the herd. And they do it in complete zen. That's peak Sunday energy: not lazy, not wild, just making the day count before the week starts again.

After looking at this meme, we had to know - why is a butterfly a “butterfly” in English? Apparently, the origin of the word "butterfly" is genuinely uncertain, but there are a few theories. The most popular theory is about butter-colored flies. The explanation for this is that it comes from the yellow brimstone butterfly, which is a common bright yellow species in Europe. Early English speakers may have named the whole category after this vivid, butter-yellow insect. The Old English word was buttorfleoge, which evolved into butterfly.
There are many folk tales about witches transforming into butterflies to steal dairy products, like the butter in the name, but another more realistic-sounding theory is that "butterfly" is a spoonerism or reversal of "flutterby", which would be a more intuitive description of how they move. This is almost certainly a quirky myth, though. It's a fun folk etymology but has no historical evidence behind it.
The honest answer is that no one knows for sure. The butter-colored wings explanation is the most widely accepted, largely because the brimstone butterfly is so distinctively yellow and was likely the first or most memorable butterfly that early English speakers encountered in spring.
