AITA for leaving a dinner party early because of "vegan lasagna"?

I was surprised to read this, as it sounds like something a non-vegan person would imagine a vegan lasagna to be like [as in a worst nightmare depiction]. I mean, it’s not necessary to avoid noodles when cooking a vegan dish, because noodles are not made out of any animal product. Maybe the cook wanted to go even further than veganism; she wanted to make a dish that was fully vegetable-based.

Of course, hunger, if it’s not extreme, is really a tolerable sensation, and one that you can easily surpass if you are having a good time with your friends. Our guy said that he didn’t want to tell the host that he was still hungry, but I think you can find a way to do it without being rude if you blame it enough on yourself. It would be something along the lines of “I haven’t eaten a lot today, I’m still a little hungry, is it ok if I order some vegan dessert or snacks?” Period, and you say that in private to the host, who will obviously empathize with your situation and not take it personally… Guys, I just found out I might be a master manipulator.

Honestly, I’ve been giving this some thought, and I do think what our friend did here was a little rude and unnecessary. Are people a little too preoccupied with their individual needs nowadays? Obviously, we do have to care for ourselves, but throughout history, we have made sacrifices in favor of community, and in the end, that disposition is much more rewarding cause it promotes connection and friendship.
Maybe what the host found out through that dinner is how strong her relationship was with the diners and what they prioritize. What an ugly way to find out, huh?
