  • Just started a new job that was advertised as hybrid. Went through the whole interview process with the understanding it would be one day a week in the office, and I did my one day in the office went through onboarding and picked up my equipment and I've not been in since.
  • A former commuter steps off public transit, reflecting the routine office travel that some remote workers no longer need to make.
  • First hour in and my manager mentions almost as an aside that they haven't actually been in the office for months. The "hybrid" element is apparently something they'd "like" to implement at some point, but there's no timeline, no plan, and no pressure. It's full remote for the foreseeable.
  • I didn't negotiate this. It wasn't a selling point in the offer. I just happened to land in a team where nobody goes in. For context I'm coming from an in-person role so hybrid was a step up for me already, working from home is a bit of an adjustment, but I'm not exactly complaining.

  • Not Sure_Camacho My key to remote work is to not take advantage of it, try to set aside one part of the house for it because if you spend time in that area outside of work, it'll feel like you're at work, and I can't state it enough, don't ab e it. • Just_Bz77 As someone who has worked remotely for a bit, the key is to make sure you're still performing, so you don't fall under the scrutiny of the management. I have a team based in different states, so we review what is going on and why. I make sure I'm available when I'm supposed to be and have caught other people running errands or going to appointments when they should be working. Anyway long story short I don't work at unemployment and dis ility anymore, it was great while it lasted
  • zetaphi_820 Yeah I had something similar. Took a promotion. Was told to be in the office full time but I'm the only one in my department. They checked swipes for a while. Mostly to determine personal office needs. My commute is a 20 minute train ride so it's not a huge deal.
  • Weekend-Gains33 Definitely sounds like you lucked out! Based on others' experiences on here, l'c just make sure you don't take it for granted and move out of the area thinking you'll never be asked to go in.
  • da4 My hybrid only tracked badging in, nothing else. I spent a year playing badge tag to avoid being on The Report and essentially working from home almost full-time. This spring they finally converted me to full-time remote.
  • bhdf3232ccc Same happened to me. Went in few tines and then just stopped going. It's like winning the lottery
  • Comfortable_Fruit847 I accepted a full time in office role, only to find out after I have been there for 90 days, I get to work hybrid. That was welcome news! Nowhere in the job details or interviews did they mention that.
  • EJ7002 Not exactly the same but started remote during co id, and they gave my office away....have been 100% remote for 6 years now.
