Well, this is a rather lovely way to get through the tough situation without having to too heavily rely on medication to do the heavy lifting. After all, these scary situations require support from pawrent to pupper. You can choose to provide that support by seeking out meds that will knock your pupper out long enough for the noise to be over, or you can double down and physically be there for your doggo and show them you care and that you have their back when they are scared. Thereby deepening your bond and building trust so that the next time such an episode happens your pupper can feel safe in the knowledge that they have survived it before with your help.

Honestly, if you can, this is the best solution. Of course it should be done with the support of a pawfessional who can help you do it gradually. But considering the cocktail of pharmaceuticals that pawrents seem to be resorting to, it really does seem that investing in exposure to startling stimuli is a worthwhile avenue to explore while your pupper is still young. Because aside from the medical option costing a lot financially, there is also a physical cost to consumption and if you can normalize the situation instead of numb it, then you give your dog a chance to overcome it.
