A 17-year-old girl fishes on her mom's boat so that her mom will buy her a car.

Am I the bad guy for making my kids catch a fish to get a car?
A gifted car, which is what the son and daughter in this story expect from their parents.
Moms fish together without their kids because their kids are totally uninterested and unwilling to fish, since it doesn't come easily to them.
The women in this photo are not the real people in this story.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime"
Does this quote hold the same weight when you're teaching your kids to fish for sport instead of for feeding themselves? Also, since when is fishing that hard anyway? All you have to do is sit there and wait for the fish to bite. I'm positive that even if softball and soccer come more easily to these kids, they're a heck of a lot harder than fishing because they require more decision-making and cardio.
