Woman Saves Sweet Abandoned Puppy Hiding In Her Chicken Coop, Fittingly Names Him 'Coop'

Unfortunately, in the U.S., outside of big cities, mostly in the country, dogs are found abandoned and let loose into the wild. Even innocent little puppies are often found alone on the side of the road or lost in the woods. Many rescues and shelters are bursting with dogs looking for homes.

TikToker @countrygirlSLP recently posted her experience of finding an abandoned puppy and the videos recounting her saga are starting to go viral. The farmer found the little guy in her chicken coop, all alone, looking terrified. Though he's whimpering, he seems unharmed, and she's able to coerce him out. She eventually posts two updates, one; she befittingly named him “Coop” and is keeping him until the ice storm that is happening over Missouri right now passes. And two; she is fostering him, but can't keep him, so is on the prowl for his forever home. 

The sweet little thing is an unknown breed, though viewers say he appears to look like a mix of a Rottweiler and a German Shepherd, and can't be more than a few months old. In the rescue video, he's heartbreakingly whimpering and obviously terrified. But the woman, in a gentle voice, asks him what's wrong and his little tail starts to wag, and the pup slowly starts to follow her. She made sure to check around the entire farm, to see if he had any siblings wondering around lost, but he appeared to be the only one. 

The video went viral so fast, that viewers instantly started to demand an update, or as many call it a “pupdate.” The TikToker came through with two more videos showing that Coop was doing just fine and slowly coming out of his shell. Unfortunately, she is unable to keep Coop but says she already has “a few takers” for adoption. 

The pupdates show Coop having the time of his life—though he did seem a little freaked out by the cat. But in the last video the TikToker posted, the pup has toys and is bouncing around playing like a healthy little puppy. The comment section is flooding with people wanting to adopt the sweet chicken coop stowaway. 

Due to an ice storm that is currently passing through Missouri, the rescuer is unable to take him to the vet to get him checked out, see if he has an owner looking for him, or to officially register him up for adoption. But as they wait out the weather, this lost pup is making some loving core memories that will form him into the big guy he will likely grow up to be. 

So far, it appears Coop is still up for adoption in Oran, Missouri. As a dog already going viral on TikTok, hopefully finding him a safe forever home will become the new trend.
