Compassion comes in many ways, and sometimes it shows in continuously rescuing cats.

Some people have one cat, and that's enough for them. I'm such a person. My wife and I tried to bring in a second cat, a young kitten to keep her company, but it ended up with him taking charge in the house while she hid under the blanket for days. So we decided that this was a foster - we took care of all his medical conditions (and there were plenty, since we rescued him from a nearly abandoned village), and then found him a forever home with a nice lady from a nearby city. He was a black kitten, so she named him Salem, and sent us updates on how happy he grew to be. And my cat, Cassie? She continues to be our one and only queen of the house.

But some people can't stop at one cat, and that's honestly understandable. And I'm not talking about just accumulating cats like candy; I'm talking about rescuing as many cats as one can possibly afford. And that's what Sarah Carolyn did - she rescued no less than nine cats, all of whom are otherwise highly unlikely to get adopted, due to various medical necessities and trauma from harsh pasts. I don't think I could ever do that in my current living situation, but I definitely adore people who do. So kudos to her, that's ameowzing.

My one and only cat is also a rescue. She was found by my classmate when I was a student. She lived in the student dorms, so there was a strict no-pet policy, so she looked for a person to adopt the tiny thing (she was a month old at the time). And it just so happened that I was looking to adopt a cat right at that moment. My classmate was an amazing foster - she did all that she could, all under the noses of the dorm security, until I could pick her up. When she was about a month and a half old, she came home with me. She celebrated 7 last month. My soul cat that's always with me.
