AmphibianCool1041 First of all why on earth did you buy a kitten if you're scared to be responsible for him for the rest of his life???? Buying a kitten is a 20 year commitment! You don't do it if you're not ready for that! You

clearly didn't think it through if you didn't even realise it would need to eat meat. Please give it up for adoption to someone who actually wants it, has done the research, and can feed it

There is no way to "decrease harm" except for not getting a kitten in the first place when you can't look after it.

living being from another species and it's important to learn about how to treat them, I recommend watching Jackson Galaxy videos on YT. Personally I deal with the food by buying organic food and also really cognitive dissonance...

slimygreasebucket I justify buying pet food because I made a commitment to my pet when I got them that I would take care of them. They are obligate carnivores and I was aware of that before I adopted one.

Gloomy-Door3136 I don't have vegan cat food available and I'm not sure I would do it even if I had the option. I don't love having to deal with it, especially canned tuna, but it is what it is and I won't give him up. I also volunteer at a cat shelter and so I deal with a lot of cat food.

Dry_Today_3349 I have had pets since I was a child. You always feed your pets what THEY need. Do not listen to random people on the internet.

thebabyfamous Cats need to eat meat. In the wild they would eat meat, and their bodies need it. Humans are different.

At the end of the day it can be animal a se to not feed your animal what is proper for their nutrition needs. It's a catch 22 for people who live a vegan lifestyle, but the odds are they your cat will not thrive if forced to eat a plant based diet.

Please research brands with ethical practices, I know Open Farm is one that you can track the entire process of how their products are made which is always a good call. You chose to have this animal, their wellbeing comes first in this situation.

UberFatWad This is really easy... get your food from wild earth. They're best of both worlds. I have three dogs, all vegan and healthier than meat based dogs. I'm sure this comment will stir some, for some reason this drives people crazy.
