Tiny paws and some cat fur are that much-needed internet break.

And it's true. How many times have you picked up your phone or turned on your computer only to be bombarded with bad, sad news? We get it: the world is in crisis, but I don't want to be reminded of that every second. It almost feels like the internet is full of drama now, and it's not as fun as it was when we were growing up. Maybe my own algorithm is always showing me the bad stuff, and I'm sick of it! From now on, I really want to be more mindful of what I consume online because it can really affect my mood and my brain.

There's something so special about cats, and that's what makes them so versatile for creating memes. You can have judgy cat memes, wholesome cats, soft cats, mean cats, sleepy cats, angry cats, happy cats… they can do it all, and you can find all of that and more right here! I never grew up a cat person: my parents are hard-core dog lovers, and I never got a chance to understand the deep, complicated soul and personality of felines. Not until I started working here, actually. I remember worrying about how I'd write about them when I had barely spent time with my Grandma's cat. Was that enough experience? And I think I learned more about them from reading about cats and scrolling through memes than from babysitting my nana's cat. Now I gravitate toward them, and writing stories like this one is my fave because I always have something to say about them. Like right now: I'm rambling about how versatile cats are, and I find them just awesome.

Anyway, it's Halloween today, and many people have decided to share their cats' costumes. Since this is my first time getting into the cat world, I wasn't aware that so many paw parents enter cat costume contests and come up with the most clever costumes for their pets. I was shocked! I didn't know cats like to be dressed, or at least, I thought the majority were like that. And even though those felines don't like being touched and held, there are some exceptions, and seeing how handsome and pretty some of those little kitties looked made my day. Some of them really got into character, and there are some funny memes and pictures out there that show exactly that. I highly recommend browsing Cheezburger to find some!
