TikTok Viral-ness Is Truly Baffling: Woman With Only 5 Videos of Bouncing a Bottle into the Heavens on a Basket Ball Is Going Viral

Social media experts hold entire conferences around the subject of going viral. Professionals are constantly trying to define it and give it an understandable structure. But let's be honest, when it comes down to it, it's just pure chaos.

Viral-worthy content can truly come from anywhere. Take, for example, TikToker Jennifer Hontz. She literally only has five videos on her profile, and they are all just of someone bouncing a bottle off of a basketball they're dropping to the ground. Yes, the bottle gets launched into the heavens above and it's surprising, but like… Why? Why is this content so attractive to so many viewers? Each video has over 300k with the first video having over almost 30 million views.

Original video:

Ok, the first video is pretty hilarious and the comment section really amps up the comedy. The video shows a woman putting her mostly empty Starbucks beverage on an un-purchased/still packaged basket ball in the middle of an aisle in a Target store. She then drops the ball with the beverage on it and what happens absolutely SHOCKS the woman—the beverage launches like a missile into the neighboring aisle. It's one of those dumb videos that you and your friends can watch over and over again and get a laugh.

Plus, the comment section definitely helped solidified this video's place in the viral-worthy category. Commenters say: “Why y'all bring your Walmart behavior to Target?” “The coffee to the person in the next aisle *SURPRISE SHAWTY!*” “Cart attendant please cart attendant." and “That cup went into another dimension.” And there are hundreds of comments of people just tagging someone else, because it's just THAT relatable.

So fine, that initial video is viral-worthy, but the next four? Why are they also getting crazy attention. Why is bouncing a beverage off of a basket ball such relatable content?

The videos were all posted on the same day and people are enjoying following the saga of the basket ball that started it all. It's really mind-boggling why some things become viral, but some people seek greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them. So, that's how viral-ness works…
