Rickrolling has made its way to the 21st century app TikTok. This man will never go away. He is taking over TikTok, his last branch of taking over the entire Internet, and next he will take over the world.
Zooming deep into certain places on Google Maps has exposed many world wonders that nobody ever knew about. It's also found some spooky looking areas and suspicious situations. And, of course, it's helped you get to your destination. But one of the most fun parts of zooming in on Google maps is for a great source of some wholesome entertainment.
The TikTok account @googlemapsfun zooms in on many places to bring you back to scenes in notable music videos, movies, show you random glitches, famous images, and more. Every now and then, this account Rickrolls its viewers with zooming in on the scenes from the infamous Rick Astley music video “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
It's no surprise that the legendary “gotcha” joke that never loses steam has found its way to Rickrolling TikTokers. It was one of the original viral memes, so of course it's now a trend on an app that has become the most recent form of going viral.
Are @googlemapsfun's viewers upset by getting Rickrolled? Probably not actually, but many are shocked to being Rickrolled in the 21st century, and on TikTok of all places. One commenter said, “Bro I did not just get rickrolled in 2022 💀” and another said, “[that's] also the entrance to the circles of hell.” Some aren't even sure if this counts as a Rickroll or just someone dropping knowledge on the history of Rickrolling. But does it really matter? Rickroll has never left and now it's made its way to TikTok. Nobody is safe.
