Girl Goes Viral for Hilariously Trolling a Gerard Butler Catfish Account on TikTok

There are lots of fake celebrity accounts out there and they're not fooling anyone. I mean, come on, half of the photos they post still have the website logo from the site they took a screenshot from and the captions have the worst grammatical errors. In all honesty, though, some people do fall for these kind of accounts—*cough*boomers*cough*—and end up giving their credit card or bank info away to someone they think is a beloved celebrity.

So when the catfish gets trolled, it's is an epic and satisfying occasion. TikToker Daphne aka @oscarbait has a chance to troll a fake Gerard Butler account and boy did she go for it.

It all started when the fake account commented the same thing twice on two of her old TikTok videos saying, “thank you so much for the love and supporting my page, send me a direct message.” So, of course, she wasn't going to pass up an opportunity like this. She DM'd him and comedy quickly ensued.

Trolling a Catfish Part 1

She part of her bit she kept mentioning a mysterious “accident” every now and then. He'd ask her how she was or what movies had she seen of his, and she'd somehow be able to slip in “the accident” very casually but never truly revealing what it was. The celebrity catfish never asked her anything about the accident.

He attempted twice to get her credit card info by first trying to offer her a “fan membership card,” which she quickly responded that she already had one. And then a second time when he mentioned charity. After it was evident he wasn't going to be able to trick her into any money, he stopped messaging her—but she wasn't going to let him off that easily.

Trolling a Catfish Part 2

Once he stopped messaging is when Daphne started hysterically calling him out for not being the real Gerard Butler. Saying things like, “How do I know you are who you say you are?… Cut the crap, Gerard." Obviously, the celebrity catfish was not expecting this and did not know how to respond. She eventually said, “You don't even care about me. I'm throwing my fan membership card away!” And that's when he blocked her. Simply brilliant.
