Woman Gets Screwed Over by Expedia, Uses TikTok to Expose Them, Finally Gets a Refund

Traveling is not a cheap activity. In fact, planning a vacation or any sort of trip that requires taking time off, finding a place to stay, and booking a flight can be extremely stressful. That's a lot of money your putting down for something that can be messed up one click away. TikToker Bella Larsen was living that nightmare when she Expedia incorrectly cancelled her flight.

Larsen works a 9-to-5 job that she hates. She rarely takes a vacation, but this year she decided it was time and she had finally saved enough money for an epic on to Jamaica. However, a change of flight number messed everything up. She had booked her flight through Expedia and, though they sent a confirmation email after the flight number change, they still canceled her flight.

She spent over six hours on the phone with Expedia with many jaw dropping horrible customer service mistakes that went down. First of all, the hold time was already ridiculous. Then, after three hours of speaking to a customer service guy who was just trying to get her off the phone the entire time, she was sent a “new” flight confirmed and it turned out to be completely wrong. It wasn't only the incorrect flight, but it was a completely different person's flight—Expedia had sent her personal information of another customer.

Another three hours ensued, and Expedia still denied any fault in the situation, even though Larsen had all the proof. The extremely frustrated customer took to TikTok to spread the news of how she was getting totally screwed by Expedia and warn others to not use the travel booking site.

Story Time: Why You Should Never Book with Expedia

The video explains the entire situation thoroughly and provides the evidence that makes it clear that it was all Expedia's flight. Plus, Larsen's anger with the company and frustrations with the entire situation was extremely palpable through the entire video. The video went viral with almost 300k views and had many other upset Expedia customers commenting their horrid experiences.

After only a day of the video going up, Larsen posts and update that Expedia finally refunded her. They only, however, refunded her the original price of the ticket, and NOT for a completely new flight. She posts that she'll take what she can get and just wants the stressful saga to be over—but they absolutely did no leave her feeling content at all. She still advises everyone to never use Expedia again and she thanks TikTok for helping get her story out there and getting her at least the minimum refund she was able to get.
