Couple Unexpectedly Rescues Senior Cat While Running Errands, Goes Viral on TikTok

The 10-year-old cat still looked like a kitten, but was all alone at the shelter—the couple already with 4 cats didn't intend to adopt, but they couldn't say no.

Senior animals tend to be the least likely to get adopted. It is a hard choice, because that means you won't get to have your pet in your life as long as you'd like. But senior animals need a loving home, especially during their later years. So, when this couple came across a senior cat all alone at a Petco, they couldn't just leave her there.

Mallie the 10-year-old cat was surrendered by a married couple who were expecting a baby and couldn't care for the kitty anymore. Mallie's new parents were at Petco to pick up kitty litter for their already bustling cat household of 4 other cats. They decided on a whim to just swing by the cat adoption section and play with some kitties before heading back home. But after seeing Mallie, it was love at first site. Looking into the eyes of this sweet and shy senior kitty just melted the heart of these two women, and they just couldn't leave her behind. They adopted her right then and there.

The senior cat has blown up on TikTok. Her account @little.mallie has attracted cat lovers from every corner of the app. It's beautiful to see how this abandoned senior cat is getting so much love on the internet. Though the cat parents don't ask for anything from their many viewers, they started an Amazon wish list for Mallie due to all the comments wanting to contribute to Mallie's life. Viewers also demand updates and videos of Mallie, so we're getting to see this senior kitten's new life unfold as it goes.

Followers of Mallie's TikTok come for the cute cat content, but stay for the wholesome senior cat life. “It takes a special kind of person to adopt a senior cat, thank you ❤” one commenter said. “I don’t think you get it we need videos of her every 3 seconds 😭😭😭 please!!!! 🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️I’m in love!!” another commenter demanded. Though there are only seven videos so far of the senior cat's day to day life, the entire account has been dedicated to her and her follows seem committed.
