Director Lexi Alexander Thinks A Ms. Marvel Movie is So Important, She'd (Jokingly) Do It For Free

While her stint in directing Marvel heroes was short lived, Lexi Alexander has been generally light-hearted about the experience, joking that she wished Marvel Studios had been in charge instead of Lionsgate. Now, the director of Punisher: War Zone is blowing up Twitter about a different Marvel hero: Kamala Khan.

Kamala is the current hero using the title Ms. Marvel, an honor most famously held by Carol Danvers who, in 2012, took on the name Captain Marvel in a popular book by Kelly Sue DeConnick. Captain Marvel also has the dubious honor of being the first woman to star in a solo Marvel Studios film (currently slated November 2018). But Alexander wants to direct another movie.

Ronda Rousey would make an interesting choice for Captain Marvel. I mean the lady is a total bad ass, but Alexander is a more traditional Nerd.

Marvel's first Muslim-American superhero. A teenager living in New Jersey, Kamala Khan has been a popular new hero flying off of comic book shelves, and is going to be a part of the All-New, All-Different Avengers in Marvel's upcoming universe relaunch.

We love Iron Man and Captain America, but the heroes of Marvel's Cinematic Universe are becoming increasingly one note.

Marvel comics has been increasing their diversity leaps and bounds over the past year or two, it's time for the movie universe to follow suit.

Kamala Khan is a great start.

There's unlikely to be a Ms. Marvel movie in the near future, but there have been rumors of a show starring Kamala Khan. While any Ms. Marvel would be fantastic, we really just wanna see her go toe-to-toe with The Avengers.
